What are the safety Features in VKTRE Jackets?
All of our non-leather motorcycle riding gear is made with 3 layers. The first is a high quality, sleek, and fashionable material such as wool, cotton, etc.
The second layer is hidden but gives full coverage of the entire body, it is 1000D Cordura Brand Nylon. 1000D Cordura is currently the most well known and most protective textile based fabric there is. When choosing a textile it is important to make sure it is specifically 1000 Denier, any less (800D, 700D or less) is inadequate for proper road protection. 1000D coupled with heavy melton wool materials give you superior resistance to asphalt.
The 3rd and last layer is a premium lining. We choose high quality materials that feel crisp and comfortable against your skin. Materials seen mostly in high quality suits and outerwear has now been integrated into your riding gear.
In conjunction to these abrasion resistant features our jackets come with pockets in the back, shoulder, and elbow region for the ability to add CE rated armor for impact protection.
Why use a Cordura Brand full lining?
When selecting the lining for our jackets we decided to use 1000D Cordura Nylon, and here is why.
Many other companies use Kevlar linings, however just because it says 100% Kevlar it doesn't mean the amount and thickness of the Kevlar is strong enough to protect you even from minor crashes. While Kevlar is one of the strongest fibers, it is extremely hard for the consumer to really tell how much is being used, the thickness, and what will or will not save you in a crash. Kevlar has no stretch to it whatsoever, so to use it in its most effective state it would be stiff and not allow air to flow through.
Some of the products we sell will contain Kevlar in them as we believe it is an extremely useful product when used right or blended into hybrid fabrics. All the Kevlar infused products such as the Abrasion Resistant Henley we sell have had the fabric crash tested by Schoeller Textiles. If we do use Kevlar, we make sure it is enough and in a way that can actually help in a slide.
We use Cordura Brand 1000D Nylon because the fibers have the ability to stretch when in contact with asphalt and then snap back in to place, rather than reach a snapping point and quickly break as fibers with no stretch often would. 1000D Cordura is often seen in the industry as the best form of protection in the textile family of gear. It is even used in some full body racing suits designed for the track. The fact that it is 1000 Denier verifies the thickness of the weave meaning the thickness and weight of the weave are 1000 Denier. This allows the consumer to know that 1000D is stronger than 700D which in turn is stronger than 500D and so on. This allows a basis on which products protect you the most, the higher the Denier count the more protective the garment is, generally speaking. We opt to use only the best and toughest overall weight which is 1000D. Nothing less should be used on our opinion.
All of our products have a slim fit cut. They are meant to fit snug with armor should you choose to insert them. The sizing we use is the same as most outerwear and blazer sizes sold by popular clothing outlets; 38, 40, 42, 44, and 46. Order the jacket in the usual size you would buy for jackets and outerwear.
